What I've done 5/22

So today I completed and uploaded my essential question and my Ten Foundation Questions and now i'm just gathering more ideas for my project and how I am going about in doing it.

Here are the questions:

Essential Question: How can I increase the diversity of young people who play hockey?

1. What is diversity?
2. How many kids in America take part in diversity programs in hockey?
3. Who started diversity programs?
4. Have diversity programs helped keep kids off of streets?
5. Do kids learn from diversity programs?
6. What’s the primary goal of hockey diversity programs?
7. What has the NHL done for diversity programs?
8. How do African – Americans and other minorities feel about playing in the NHL?
9. What are the benefits in playing hockey?
10. Are there any companies that have supported hockey diversity programs?
11. What have companies like PowerAde and CCM contributed to hockey diversity programs?
12. How has Garth Brooks helped out hockey diversity programs?
13. What is the history of African – Americans, black Canadians, and Europeans in the NHL?

Kory, You had a great presentation. I think it shows a good enthusiasm for your project.

A suggestion I have is for you to look more into diversity in hockey as it exists now (e.g. there are players from all over the world speaking different languages) and then use that as part of your project.

How are you defining "diversity" in your project?
